On 25th February 2014, our team of David Lalor, Tadhg Downey, Matt Cullen, Jordan Hennessy and Seán Tracey travelled up to Dublin to meet with our Gold Sponsors, Microsoft Ireland. We met with Stephen Howell, Academic Engagement Manager for Microsoft Ireland, who gave us a demo in Microsoft's state-of-the-art game development software, Project Spark. He showed us how easy it was to create our very own game and gave us some great tips and advice regarding using the software. Project Spark is an open-world digital canvas that enables anyone to build, play, and share whatever they can imagine. It’s a powerful and simple way to build, create and play your own worlds and games.
We are planning to make Project Spark a big part of our F1 in Schools project and work is currently underway on developing our very own game. Stephen was also very kind in giving the team five X-Box 360 controllers. The whole day was a truly amazing experience and we were privileged to visit Microsoft's Headquarters and see for ourselves what a future career might be like in Microsoft. This visit has opened many opportunities for us all, and we would like to thank Stephen and all the team at Microsoft Ireland for our great visit.
Watch out for Renaissance Racing at the Regional Finals! We're revved up and ready to go!
